A Home of My Own Program Guidelines

Consumer Credit Counseling Service (CCCS), a not-for-profit United Way HUD approved housing counseling agency, is dedicated to providing affordable housing opportunities to qualified households. Through A Home of My Own, low-to-moderate income households may qualify for down-payment and closing cost assistance for the purchase of their first home. Please do not 'disqualify' yourself because you think your household's annual income is higher than allowed ... make the inquiry to check on your qualification. All programs are on a first-come first-served basis and there is no guarantee of funds availability.

The CCCS – City of Las Vegas Down Payment Assistance Program may provide up to $10,000 or six percent (6%) of the purchase price towards down-payment and certain allowable closing costs for a home purchased within the Las Vegas City limits. Homebuyer contribution is a minimum of $1,000.

The CCCS – City of North Las Vegas Down Payment Assistance Program may provide up to $20,000 towards down-payment and certain allowable closing costs for a home purchased with the City of North Las Vegas limits. Homebuyer contribution is a minimum of $1,000.

The CCCS – Neighborhood Stabilization Plan (NSP) may provide up to $25,000 to assist with 50% of the required down payment, all closing costs and mortgage or interest buy-down. This special program allows a household with income up to 120% of area median income ($78,500 for a family of four) to access funds to purchase a foreclosed property in designated areas across the Las Vegas Valley.

The CCCS Individual Development Account (IDA) is a minimum 10-month savings program that may provide a match of $3 for every $1 saved by the potential homeowner. This is the perfect program for anyone needing to save funds toward down payment, or has the need to address credit challenges before becoming a homeowner. There are income limitations.

The CCCS – WISH Program may provide a match of $3 for every $1 contributed by the homeowner. The funds are immediately available for qualified borrowers. There are income limitations.
